Spring is Here!

It’s officially spring and I could not be more excited! Spring in Athens is absolutely beautiful. The weather is not too hot and not too cold, the flowers are beginning to pop up all over campus, and everyone seems to be in a good mood. And you can’t beat the spring parties…

Enough about UGA, let’s get to business. When I think of spring-time, I think of the outdoors and the endless possibilities one could do with the exterior of a home. Yes, Interior Design can also go Exterior. The porch, for example, is simply an extension of the same style and decor as the inside of the house. I especially love porches and gardens because I love being outside. Its calms and relaxes you, and is overall just a happy place to be.

However, designing for the exterior of a home is quite different. Fabrics must be weather resistant, lighting and materials more durable, and even the small accessories have to be able to take on the ever-changing climate conditions. Either way, putting together a backyard sounds fun!

So go outside and soak in the spring sun:

Architectural Digest knows their porches

A fireplace is always a warming touch

Love love the chairs! Creative mix of styles with the modern chairs and vintage-inspired table

Perfect entertaining area

Again with the wire-back chairs! A must have for exteriors and interiors

Creative idea with the movable ceiling screen

So inviting! I can see some fabulous parties happening here

Ahh I’m loving the dark couch and printed ottoman. It creates great contrast with the light walls and natural light

Ulta-modern take on the classic patio area

All the chairs are such different designs, yet they still manage to come together and create a great space

There’s something about a Southern porch that will never go out of style

Spin on the traditional porch, and I like it
