Pink is one of my favorite colors of all time. Not just because it is super girly and fun, but because all the different hues and shades of the color seem to instantly glamour-up a room. Magenta, fuchsia, salmon, ruby, amaranth, and coral are some of my top choices, just to name a few.
So you can imagine my excitement that pink is making its way into the design world, and actually becoming quite the statement color. One reason for this increase in popularity is because pink ‘pops’ so well. Designers today are starting to use this vivid color more frequently and are manipulating the color to use it in clever and fresh ways. Bright pink accessories, or even whole walls, are charming and romantic, and I love it.
Rachel Roy inspired one of this year’s PANTONE Fashion Colors of 2012:
It is also no coincidence that my two favorite designers commonly use pink throughout their designs as well.
