Triple Threat

When I think of Justin Timberlake, I imagine him singing as a human puppet in the “Bye Bye Bye ” *Nsync music video. Even though I love having that image stuck in my head, Mr. Timberlake now as a new profession to add to his already impressive resume: Interior Designer…? Say what?!

Yes, the singer and actor has now moved on to the design industry. He has been collaborating with interior designer and long-time friend Estee Stanley to launch a new collection of home decor and art for HomeMint, a website that sells all types of home goods.

The design duo interviewed with Elle Decor (the Bible) to explain why this line.

Here is what JT had to say:

“This was really a collaboration with Estee. I don’t think I would do it if we weren’t in it together. We’ve known each other for a long time and have worked together on my homes—we really have a like-minded vision for design so when HomeMint came to us with the opportunity, it felt like a really natural thing for us to do together. Estee and I are great friends, so it’s a lot of fun.”

His inspirations:

“I like very clean, almost modern architecture, and the obstacle with something like that is making it extremely warm, because it doesn’t naturally lend itself to that. With everything we do together, we try to get the juxtaposition right. To make pieces and rooms that are multifaceted, that blend different genres of architecture and design.”

“When you’re working on something as personal as your home, it’s about the relationship. And that’s what [HomeMint] is all about—at the end of the day, we’re not looking at the people as consumers, we’re looking at them as clients. And we want to have a relationship with them. To offer our design suggestions.”
