A few weeks ago while staying at my friend’s home in Atlanta, I rediscovered my love for RED. She doesn’t live in any old shack though… her family resides at The St. Regis in the heart of Buckhead. I absolutely love going to stay for weekend not only because I feel like I am a part of her family, but because I always admire the beautiful interiors they change seasonally in the public areas of the hotel. And the killer pool isn’t too bad.
Doesn’t the bright red pop in contrast to the tan cement?! The perfect color for this area in my opinion. I also applaud the scale of the different aspects around the pool: the lanterns, awnings, fireplace, and staircase for example.
Here are some of my other red inspirations:

Prague – I’ll see you so soon!
The flowers on campus have finally come into bloom and I couldn’t be more excited! The bright colors I see around Athens, I have also noticed on the spring runways and new, fresh interiors – I can’t seem to get enough of the purples, pinks, yellows and blues:

UGA was closed today due to the overnight snow storm, which I had absolutely no problem with. Being the warm-blooded Texan that I am, I literally did not leave my house.
Things I did today:
1. snuggled with my friends while watching Breaking Bad
2. baked oatmeal chocolate chip cookies
So yes, it was a very productive day. Even though I did not necessarily play in the snow, that doesn’t mean I did not appreciate it. Looking out onto my lawn, with that white blanket that so seamlessly covered everything in sight, was incredibly beautiful. Everything was clean, pure – it almost made me want to move north. Almost.
Love me some Winter Whites:
In light of Paris Fashion Week, I felt like it was my duty to share more photos of the amazing couture lines that hit the runways earlier in January. Zuhair Murad‘s spring line in particular caught my eye. The perfectly tailored garments emphasizes each models silhouette, while still being elegant and polished. Another aspect of the collection that I admire is how the dresses are draped and how they fall.
It almost reminds me of….

While browsing Shopbop for a formal dress, I stumbled upon Oscar de la Renta’s new jewelry line (view here). I’m not sure what caught my eye first – the bold colors, the mix of stones or the genius use of brass that seems to tie the collection together. Each item is literally a little piece of artwork.
Accessories have similar roles in both interiors and fashion. Jewelry adds that much needed pop of color or drama to an outfit, just as patterned pillows or throws add character to a room.
Here are some of my top picks:

His home decor line is just as stunning – take a peak at his website!!
Has anyone seen Prabal Gurung’s Pre-Fall Collection? Killer.
Let’s take a closer look at the last three:
Yup – that sure looks like Carrara Herringbone Marble to me! Very cool to see it translated into fashion. Here are some ways to incorporate the beautiful stone in the home:
I realize that it is still extremely warm here in the south, but my mind is stuck in San Fran – where the breeze is strong and hills are killer. It was neat to experience the different types of fashion in California versus Madrid (where I was lucky enough to spend the first half of the summer!). HoWeVeR, one trend that the two amazing cities did have in common was…. LEATHER, which I fully embraced.
